E&W staff has significant expertise in the field of traffic safety and transportation research, including analysis support for press releases, journal articles and conference presentations as well as the implementation of data collection tools ranging from intercepts to electronic field observations.

Additionally, E&W has of 20 years of combined experience in the research of tobacco control programs and alcohol prevention projects in the State of California and nationwide, including the design and execution of complex, multi-mode data collection methodologies using a broad range of data collection tools for cross-sectional and longitudinal studies.

Traffic Safety and Transportation Research

E&W offers a wide range of tools for data collection in traffic safety, pedestrian and vehicle driver behavior, transportation mode selection, bicycle ridership and patterns of transit use.

Ewald & Wasserman routinely conducts surveys and field observations on a regional and national level to identify and analyze motivating factors for behavioral and cognitive shifts in transportation choices. E&W also provides significant expertise in the measure and evaluation of electronic device use and distracted driving in addition to the assessment of public perception of traffic safety and enforcement programs on speeding and red-light running. 

Tobacco Control and Alcohol Prevention

E&W provides behavioral science research and data collection services in local and national surveys on the quantification of alcohol and tobacco use in adult and youth populations, including precise and representative data collection methodologies in longitudinal settings to reach respondents in a wide range of study designs and objectives, including drinking beliefs, perceptions on drinking and driving and negative consequences of drinking. E&W staff are trained in sensitivity issues pertaining to youth and family dynamics and are able to investigate hard to reach populations over multiple program years utilizing an array of respondent tracking strategies.

Ewald & Wasserman also provides field observations on tobacco pricing and advertising strategies using mobile electronic data collection tools and devices to capture a wide range of information that is immediately accessible for analysis.
